Harmony Beyond Horizon: A Day of Dance and Discovery at Citrus College
Stepping into the rhythm of possibility, Performing Arts Academy students recently immersed themselves in a dynamic dance workshop at Citrus College. Led by Dean John Vaughan and dance instructor Renee Liskey, the workshop explored the roots of HipHop, fostering an environment where every participant, regardless of their artistic emphasis, could break new ground. The experience extended beyond the dance floor, offering a backstage pass to Citrus College's cutting-edge recording studios and vast prop-filled storage rooms. Dean Vaughan's insights into college life and the performing arts industry added an extra layer of inspiration. A day filled with education, exploration, and invaluable insights, forever etched in the hearts of PAA students.

Workshop Highlights: Fred Othmer shares techniques about Technical Theatre
Our Performing Arts Academy students had the opportunity to attend a Technical Theatre Workshop taught by Fred Othmer at none other than the University of Southern California. Mr. Othmer is a highly accomplished and well-respected theatre professional with over thirty years of experience in the industry. He generously shared his expertise with our students, teaching them about many different elements of technical theatre, such as lighting design, sound engineering, and much more.
Workshop Highlights: Joel Balzun helps students find their voice.
At the West Covina High School Performing Arts Academy, we believe in the power of creativity and giving our students the knowledge and skills to be expressive in all mediums within the performing arts industry. That’s why we are so excited that earlier this semester, Joel Balzun was able to come out and work with our students on singing technique and vocal production.
